2. What we collect
- Waitlist and account data: your name and email address, plus any profile details you choose to add once you create an account.
- Public posts from journalists and media:we collect public posts in which journalists, podcasters and other media are asking for sources. We collect these from Bluesky, Threads and other platforms using their official APIs. For each post we store the post text, the author's username or handle (and display name where provided), the post URL and the time it was posted.
- Connected Threads accounts: if you connect your Threads account, we store your Threads user ID, username and an access token. We use these only to run keyword searches for media requests.
- Technical and usage data: essential cookies that keep you logged in, analytics about how the site is used, and server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages you visit).
We do not collect or store posts written by people who create a Get Featured account, including people who connect their Threads account.
3. Why we use it
- To show you relevant media opportunities.
- To run, secure and improve the service, including your account and any subscription.
- To contact waitlist members about early access and launch updates.
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
4. Our lawful basis
- Consent for the waitlist. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us.
- Contract for account holders, to provide the service you have signed up for.
- Legitimate interestsfor processing public posts in which journalists and media invite responses. Those authors have chosen to publish a public request for sources, and we only use the post to help suitable experts find and answer it. We have balanced this against the authors' rights, and anyone can object or ask us to remove their posts (see section 11).
- Legal obligation where we must keep records, for example for tax and accounting.
5. AI processing
We use an AI model, Claude (provided by Anthropic), to classify collected public posts and identify genuine media requests. The model is given the post text and basic post details. This classification decides whether a post is shown as an opportunity. It does not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on anyone.
Anthropic processes this data on our behalf as a processor and does not use it to train its models.
6. Who we share data with
We use the following service providers (processors and sub-processors) to run the service. They may only use personal data on our instructions:
- Render for application hosting.
- Amazon Web Services for our database.
- Anthropic for AI classification of public posts.
- Brevo for sending email.
- Stripe for payment processing. We never store your card details.
- PostHog for product analytics and error reporting.
- Crisp for live chat support.
- Bytescale for storing images you upload.
- LogSnag for internal event notifications.
When you apply to an opportunity, the journalist or organiser who posted it can see the information in your application and public profile.
7. International transfers
Some of our providers store or process data outside the UK, including in the European Economic Area and the United States. When we transfer personal data outside the UK, we make sure it is protected by an adequacy decision under UK law (including the UK-US Data Bridge for certified organisations), or by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep data
- Account data: until you delete your account or ask us to delete it, after which we delete or anonymise it within 30 days.
- Waitlist data: until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete it, or it is moved into an account you create.
- Connected Threads data (user ID, username and access token): until you disconnect the app or ask us to delete it. We delete it within 30 days of a request.
- Billing records: for as long as the law requires, usually six years.
9. What we don't do
